About ECWA NSW
Equatoria is a region in the south of present-day South Sudan, along the upper reaches of the White Nile. Originally a province of Egypt, it also contained most of northern parts of present-day Uganda, including Lake Albert. It was an idealistic effort to create a model state in the interior of Africa that never consisted of more than a handful of adventurers and soldiers in isolated outposts.
ECWA NSW is a community of Equatorians living in Sydney, NSW Australia
Stronger Together
ECWA NSW came together in the spirit of sharing — sharing our culture, traditions and cultural cuisine.
The Equatorian Community of NSW Australia aim to foster a greater understanding of our culture and encourage future generations to share their heritage with pride.
ECWA NSW is a united group of ethnic communities from the Equatoria region of South Sudan. We have formed through the understanding that unity and a commitment to create, maintain and sustain peace internal and external to our communities will lead to long term growth and sustainability. That is our overarching vision, and by working together with Labour government, we have continued to strengthen our commitment to providing for the needs of our people.
